Tapas catering in Stubbles

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Tapas catering in Stubbles, cooked live

We will suggest a selection to suit your timings and guests, starter or main event. Typical bookings include sharing boards for evening guests and anniversary parties, serving padrón peppers, gambas al ajillo and tortilla española.

In a rural spot like Stubbles, tapas can be served in a garden, barn or marquee. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

What tapas catering costs

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Parking and unloading
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

What to tell us

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • The address or venue name
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. You can use our quote form.

Diets, allergies and planning

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Decide whether tapas are a starter, canapés or the whole meal
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies
  • Keep seafood and meat dishes clearly separate
  • Ensure dishes are labelled

Canapés go round with the drinks as guests arrive.

Staff to serve canapés.

How it works

Here’s how the day normally runs: we arrive, set up and start cooking, your guests watch the rice cook, and it’s served hot from the pan when you’re ready to eat. A summer drinks reception in Stubbles has daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer, perfect for canapés outdoors. By late September it’s dark around 7:10pm, and in December by about 4:00pm.

  1. Send us the date, venue, numbers and serving style.
  2. You get a suggested selection and a price.
  3. On the day, we set up and prepare the hot tapas there.
  4. Canapés go round with the drinks, or table tapas go out to share.
  5. We pack down when service ends.

Preparing for the day

  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload

Planning help

Is live paella right for your event?

A plated starter needs a kitchen and staff. Table tapas are shared and relaxed. Larger events usually cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What you get with us

  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
