How our tapas catering works in Stonor

Tapas and paella go hand in hand, served while the paella cooks, but they’re great on their own. We’re often asked to cater launches and office parties and canapés with welcome drinks, with padrón peppers, albóndigas and croquetas.

For a country party near Stonor, tapas and sangria set the mood. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

Live paella or other catering?

Nibbles fill a gap. Tapas make a proper course. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

FAQs for Stonor

We are having a ceremony at Pishill Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Is Stonor close to London?

Roughly 37 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

Do you take everything away?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Do you come to Stonor?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Stonor. To check your date, fill in our quote form.

Can we add drinks?

We can add sangria and bar staff.

How long do you need on site?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance.

Are your tapas vegetarian-friendly?

Lots. Tortilla, bravas and Manchego are popular vegetarian choices.

Do you do starters?

Yes, and it’s a popular combination. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

The process

When we arrive, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. Evening receptions in Stonor stay light until about 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June, which suits an outdoor reception.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. You get a selection and a price.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. We serve canapés or table tapas.
  5. We pack down when service ends.

How to prepare

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Tell us where to park and unload

Planning help

Should I cook it myself?

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Prices and what affects them

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Timings and hours
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Guest numbers

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • What the venue already provides
  • The date and time of the event
  • The courses you’d like

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. You can use our quote form.
