Planning an event in Scarborough?
About our tapas catering in Scarborough
Tapas pair naturally with a live paella, served while the paella cooks, but they work on their own too. Popular choices include gambas al ajillo, Manchego with membrillo and padrón peppers, and we are regularly asked to cater tapas and paella menus and sharing boards for evening guests.
For a country party near Scarborough, tapas and sangria set the mood. All the cooking equipment comes with us, and we clear our cooking area away afterwards.

Nearby historic houses include Starkey Castle (1.7 miles north) and Temple Manor (3.4 miles north). Organising for someone else?
For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.
If you are organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.
What affects the price in Scarborough
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:
- Distance and access to the venue
- Guest numbers
- The length of service
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.
Getting an accurate quote
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:
- Whether the venue has crockery or staff
- Expected numbers
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
- The date and rough timings
Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.
Should I cook it myself?
You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.
The process
Here’s how the day generally runs: we arrive, set up and start cooking, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and we serve straight from the pan when you’re ready to eat. Evening receptions in Scarborough stay light until about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, which suits an outdoor reception.
- You tell us the date, venue, numbers and how you’d like the tapas served.
- You get a suggested selection and a price.
- On the day we arrive, set up and finish the hot tapas on site.
- Canapés go round with the drinks, or table tapas go out to share.
- We clear away our equipment when service is finished.
How to prepare
