Paella catering in ME1: what to expect
Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: meat, seafood and vegetarian or vegan paellas. Every pan is cooked on its own, so diets are easy to manage. We cook vegan paella, paella Valenciana and chicken and chorizo paella, and we’re frequently booked for company summer parties and engagement and anniversary parties.
We get there well before serving, unload, set up the burners and prepare the stock. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks.
- Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
- Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
- Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
- On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
- We serve, then leave our area tidy.
Pricing in ME1
The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Catering events across ME1
From Chatham, Rochester and Strood to 3 villages and hamlets, events across ME1 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and live paella suits every kind of setting. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access.
Rochester Riverside: For guests coming by train, Rochester station is in Rochester Riverside itself. If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Church of St Nicholas, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well. In Rochester Riverside, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:50pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

About the dishes
Mixed paella
Chicken and seafood together, and a popular all-rounder.
Seafood paella
Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It is the pan people photograph.
Diets, allergies and planning
With a little notice, every diet is easy. Our advice:
- Send allergies to us in writing
- Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
- Make sure each pan is labelled
- Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
A short rest after cooking helps, which is when we normally call guests over.
Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.
Working with your venue
If you’re organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.
Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we will tell you honestly whether live paella will work.
Before you choose a spot
No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space before we confirm. Generally, we look for:
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
- Access for unloading near the cooking spot
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
ME1: your questions answered
Do you cook it at the event?
Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook it there and then, serving it hot from the pan.
What is live paella catering?
We cook from scratch at your venue in big pans, in front of your guests, and serve straight from the pan.
Do you do starters?
Of course. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, served while the paella cooks.
Which areas do you serve?
London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.
When should we book?
The sooner the better. Popular dates book up first, so it pays to ask early.
Can you supply plates?
We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we will include the rest in the quote.
Can we choose the seafood?
Tell us your preferences and we will suggest seafood options to suit your menu and budget. Premium options are available.
- Cooked live in giant pans at your event
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
- Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
- Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
