How it works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day. Evening receptions in Old Woking stay light until about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, which suits an outdoor reception.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and how you want the tapas served.
  2. You get a suggested selection and a price.
  3. On the day, we set up and prepare the hot tapas there.
  4. We serve canapés with drinks or set table tapas down to share.
  5. Afterwards, our equipment is cleared away.

How to prepare

  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Generic canapés all look the same. Spanish tapas bring colour and flavour. Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Working with your venue

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Old Woking? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.

If you’re organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

How we price tapas catering

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How long we are needed on site
  • How many staff you need

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • What the venue already provides
  • Roughly how many adults and children

It is easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send a clear, itemised quote.

Space, weather and the venue

Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but a few things matter:

  • Access to unload near the serving area
  • The venue’s agreement to outside caterers
  • A spot for our serving station

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before you book.

Should I cook it myself?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.
