About our tapas catering in Netherfield

For standing receptions, canapés work best; for seated meals, table tapas. Many events have both. Whether it’s canapés with welcome drinks and engagement drinks, we will put together a menu of croquetas, patatas bravas and Manchego with membrillo.

Near Netherfield, tapas suit gardens, barns and marquees. We plan the timings around your day, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Netherfield questions

How far is Netherfield from London?

About 45 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Do you come out to small places like Netherfield?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Are the tapas served hot?

Hot tapas are finished on site so they’re served at their best.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can plan it carefully.

Do you provide serving staff?

We can provide staff. Canapés need staff to carry them round.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

What does tapas catering cost?

We quote for each event, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, including East Sussex. See all areas.

The process

A typical event goes like this: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, your guests watch the rice cook, and it’s served hot from the pan at the agreed time. A summer drinks reception in Netherfield has daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer, ideal for tapas in the garden. By late September it is dark around 7:00pm, and in December by about 3:55pm.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and how you want the tapas served.
  2. We put together a tapas selection and a quote.
  3. On the day, we set up and prepare the hot tapas there.
  4. Canapés go round with the drinks, or table tapas go out to share.
  5. Afterwards, our equipment is cleared away.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Leave space around the cooking area

Planning help

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Planning for every diet

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Keep seafood and meat dishes clearly separate
  • Decide whether tapas are a starter, canapés or the whole meal
  • Check diets in advance
  • Ask for labels on each dish

Each dish is labelled.

Staff to serve canapés.

What tapas catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How many guests are eating

Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

What we need to know

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • The address or venue name
  • Expected numbers
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. When you are ready, send us your details through our quote form.
