DIY paella versus live catering

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Planning a tapas spread in Monxton

Monxton is about 3 miles west of Andover, in Hampshire. Whether your event is in the middle of Monxton or on the outskirts, tapas catering works the same way: live cooking, separate pans for every diet and a clear price. We cook in all 683 towns and villages across Hampshire. We cook right across the region, from Monxton to Southampton (21 miles away).

If you’re looking at a historic venue around Monxton, check its catering rules early, as many limit cooking. After a ceremony at a church such as Church of St Mary, canapé tapas with the drinks keep guests happy during photos.

This part of Hampshire takes in SP11, so your event can be anywhere in it. Whether your event is on High Street, Green Lane and Abbotts Ann Road or a nearby road, we’ll bring the pans to you. If your venue is just outside Monxton, we also cover Amport (1 mile west), Abbotts Ann (1 mile south-east), Fox (1 mile south-west), Little Ann (2 miles south-east) and Anna Valley (2 miles east). Larger places within reach include Winchester (14 miles south-east), Andover (3 miles east), Romsey (14 miles south), Hyde (14 miles south-east), Tidworth (6 miles north-west) and Weeke (13 miles south-east).

Nearby you will also find Andover Museum (3.4 miles east) and Andover War Memorial Hospital (2.8 miles north-east). Green spaces nearby include Anton Lakes and Mill Lake.

  • Schools near Monxton include John Hanson Community School (2.2 miles east)
  • Nearby, you’ll find The Black Swan Public House (less than half a mile east)

How to compare caterers

Your questions about tapas catering in Monxton

Is Monxton too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Is Monxton close to London?

Roughly 66 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

How much space do you need?

Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. Send us a picture if you’re not sure.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans.

When do you arrive?

We get there in good time to set up. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Can we add drinks?

Yes. Sangria can be added, and bar staff if you’re providing the drinks.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we take the right care.

Can you bring crockery?

Yes, if you need them. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, organised team. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up our cooking area, and get on with cooking and serving. At midsummer, it is light in Monxton until about 9:25pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. By late September it is dark around 7:10pm, and in December by about 4:00pm.

  1. Send us the date, venue, numbers and serving style.
  2. We suggest a selection and confirm a quote.
  3. On the day, we set up and prepare the hot tapas there.
  4. Canapés circulate with drinks, or tapas go to the tables.
  5. We pack down when service ends.
