Tapas catering for Mongewell events

How we price tapas catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • How many courses
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Details that help

These details help us quote quickly:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • What the venue already provides
  • The date and rough timings
  • The venue or postcode

The quickest way to a quote is to use our quote form. Tell us about your event in Mongewell, and we’ll suggest paellas and extras to suit.

How the day works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Evening receptions in Mongewell stay light until about 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June, which suits an outdoor reception.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, numbers and how you’d like the tapas served.
  2. You get a suggested selection and a price.
  3. We arrive, set up and finish hot dishes on site.
  4. We serve canapés with drinks or set table tapas down to share.
  5. We clear away our equipment when service is finished.

Before we arrive

  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day

Cholsey station, about 2.2 miles south-west of the centre.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can, if you tell us in advance. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

Yes, tapas work on their own, for receptions, parties and evening food.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Do you have vegetarian tapas?

Yes. Tortilla, bravas and Manchego are popular vegetarian choices.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies
  • Include staff for canapés

Canapés go round with the drinks.
