About the dishes

Manchego & membrillo

A simple, classic pairing.

Croquetas

Creamy croquettes with a crisp coat.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

For planners, venues and organisers

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

How it works

From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. At midsummer, it is light in Hever until about 9:20pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:05pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:55pm, are better indoors.

Questions from Hever

Is Hever too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Can you cook at venues in the High Weald National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We’ll follow the site rules.

Is tapas catering available separately?

Absolutely, for receptions, parties and evening food.

Can you provide dessert?

Yes, Spanish desserts can be added. Tell us what you have in mind in your enquiry.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we take the right care.

How many different paellas?

Generally two or three, so every guest has a choice. We will recommend a mix based on diets.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.

How long does the paella take?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Catering for every guest

Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Keep seafood and meat dishes clearly separate
  • Pair tapas with sangria, cava or sherry
  • Canapés need staff to serve
  • Collect dietary needs

Table tapas are set down to share.

Bar staff and sangria.

Live paella or other catering?

A plated starter needs a kitchen and staff. Table tapas are relaxed and sociable. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.
