How our tapas catering works in Grove Hill

Canapé tapas suit standing receptions; table tapas suit seated meals. Many events have both. Popular choices include gambas al ajillo, padrón peppers and tortilla española, and we are frequently booked for sharing boards for evening guests and birthday and anniversary parties.

Near Grove Hill, tapas suit gardens, barns and marquees. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, with each paella cooked in its own pan and clearly labelled.

How the day works

Your timings come first. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we hold the paella at the right stage so it is served at its best. At midsummer, it’s light in Grove Hill until about 9:15pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:00pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:55pm, are better indoors.

  1. Send us the date, venue, numbers and serving style.
  2. We suggest a selection and confirm a quote.
  3. We arrive, set up and finish hot dishes on site.
  4. We serve canapés with drinks or set table tapas down to share.
  5. Afterwards, our equipment is cleared away.

  • Payment terms and deposit

Our caterer checklist

How we price tapas catering

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Whether you need crockery
  • The number of people
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

What we need to know

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • The address or venue name
  • The date and rough timings
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, along with any dietary needs, and you will get a menu idea and a price. Just fill in our quote form.

Grove Hill: your questions answered

Do you cater in the High Weald National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.

How far is Grove Hill from London?

Roughly 44 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

When should we book?

The sooner the better. Popular dates book up first, so it pays to ask early.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, served while the paella cooks.

Are your tapas vegetarian-friendly?

Many tapas are naturally vegetarian, such as tortilla, bravas and padrón peppers. We label each dish.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Grove Hill.

Is tapas catering available separately?

Yes. Tapas and canapés can be booked on their own.

Can you do sangria?

Yes. Sangria can be added, and bar staff if you’re providing the drinks.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Working with your venue

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

Planning for every diet

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Match tapas with Spanish drinks
  • Label seafood clearly
  • Canapés need staff to serve
  • Make sure dishes are labelled

Staff carry canapés round and keep boards topped up.

Sangria and bar staff.

About the dishes

Tortilla española

Tortilla is vegetarian and naturally gluten-free.

Gambas al ajillo

Prawns sizzled in garlic and olive oil with a little chilli.

Why live cooking beats a buffet
