Tapas catering in Cote, made fresh on the day

Tapas suit drinks receptions, evening parties, office events and weddings. We cook padrón peppers, tortilla española and Serrano ham, and we are regularly asked to cater office parties and launches and evening grazing.

In a rural spot like Cote, tapas can be served in a garden, barn or marquee. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Prices and what affects them

Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Travel, parking and access
  • How many staff you need
  • Guest numbers

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • A photo of the space, if you can
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Which courses you have in mind

It is easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll send a clear, itemised quote and a suggested menu.

Live paella or other catering?

Tapas are flexible, so they fit most plans. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.

What you get with us

  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • No hidden extras in your quote
  • Fast service from the pan
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request

Planning a tapas spread in Cote

Cote is about 2 miles north-west of Worthing, in West Sussex. Whether your event is in the middle of Cote or on the outskirts, tapas catering works the same way: live cooking, separate pans for every diet and a clear price. Cote is one of 371 places in West Sussex where we cook. We cook right across the region, from Cote to Brighton (13 miles away).

For guests coming by train, the nearest station is Durrington-On-Sea station, about 1.8 miles south. Nearby historic houses include Ecclesden Manor (2.5 miles south-west). For a drinks reception at a historic venue, canapé tapas can work where live cooking is not allowed. The South Downs National Park is within about 7 miles of Cote, ideal for an outdoor reception. The coast is within about 4 miles, so garlic prawns are popular.

Anywhere in BN13, we can bring tapas catering to you. Close by, we cover events in Durrington (1 mile south-east), High Salvington (1 mile north-east), Clapham (1 mile west), Patching (2 miles west) and Findon (2 miles north). Within a short drive, we also cover Bognor Regis (12 miles west), Burgess Hill (15 miles north-east), Littlehampton (5 miles south-west), Shoreham-by-Sea (7 miles east), Lancing (4 miles east) and Rustington (4 miles south-west).

A little further out are The Acre (2.8 miles south-east) and Old Castle (1.7 miles south-east). Not far away are Highdown Hill.

  • Pubs nearby include Coach And Horses Public House (within half a mile south-west)

Common questions in Cote

Do you come out to small places like Cote?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

We’re having a ceremony at St Symphorian's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Can you do sangria?

We can make sangria, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

How do you work out quantities?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.

How much is live paella catering?

We quote for each event, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we’ll reply with a price.

Do you cook inside?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Do you come to Cote?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Cote and the rest of West Sussex. For a quote, use our quote form.

Can you cook in the rain?

We cook under cover, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We will agree a wet-weather plan with you.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Separate seafood dishes from the rest
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies
  • Include staff for canapés
  • Allow more variety if tapas are the whole meal

Staff keep the canapés coming.

Add a live paella main.

DIY paella versus live catering

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

What happens on the day

A typical event goes like this: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and we serve straight from the pan when you are ready to eat. Sunset in Cote is around 9:20pm in June, so canapés can go round outdoors on a summer evening.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You choose canapés, table tapas or both.
  3. We set up on arrival.
  4. We serve the spread.
  5. We clear away at the end.

Preparing for the day

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Getting a price

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.
