What happens on the day

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. At midsummer, it’s light in Brambridge until about 9:25pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:10pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:00pm, are better indoors.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. You get a selection and a price.
  3. We set up and finish hot tapas on site.
  4. Canapés go round or tapas go to the tables.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area

Working with your venue

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

What tapas catering costs

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Parking and unloading
  • How many staff you need
  • Your choice of paellas

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • The courses you’d like
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • Anything your venue supplies

To get a price, send us your details through our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest paellas and extras to suit.

The closest is Shawford station, roughly 2 miles away.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of the Holy Trinity?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you cook it at the event?

It is. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Do you cook inside?

Mostly outside or under an open cover, because we use gas burners. We’ll check whether your venue has a suitable space.

Do you come to Brambridge?

We do. We cook at events in Brambridge and across Hampshire. Send us your date to check availability.
