Live paella across SL2

How paella catering works in SL2

Paella has always been food for a crowd: cooked outdoors in a wide, shallow pan and shared. That is what we bring to events in SL2. Typical bookings include naming days and family parties and garden get-togethers, with black rice, paella Valenciana and vegetable paella.

We arrive in good time before you want to eat, unload, set up the burners and prepare the stock. Your guests are welcome to watch as the paella takes shape.

  1. Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

Paella catering in SL2: local guide

From Cippenham, Britwell and Upton to 8 villages and hamlets, events across SL2 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and live paella works in all of them. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access.

Britwell: If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Claycots School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. Thinking of a picnic-style party in Cocksherd Wood? Public parks usually need permission from the council or landowner for cooking, so check first. In Britwell, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

Planning the cooking area

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area

Occasions we cook for in SL2

Paella is one of the few dishes that handles mixed diets easily, because each version is cooked in its own pan. Nobody gets a token ‘special meal’.

We’re booked for all kinds of occasions in SL2 and nearby. Popular bookings include:

  • Birthday celebrations
  • Leaving dos and retirements
  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Weddings and evening receptions

Dishes our guests love

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, and is typically served with alioli. It makes a dramatic second seafood pan.

Paella Valenciana

Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, not seafood. It’s a favourite with guests who don’t eat fish.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, every diet is easy. Our advice:

  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Have seats for most of your guests

Any staff you book serve and clear, so you can relax.

We can add sangria and bar staff for your own drinks.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

For something a little different, live paella brings colour, aroma and a touch of Spain to your event in SL2.

What your quote should include

  • Exactly what’s included in the price
  • Any travel, parking or access charges
  • When final numbers are due
  • How each diet is kept separate

Common questions in SL2

How much is live paella catering?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we will send a quote.

Can paella be the only main course?

Yes. Paella with bread and salad makes a full main course.

Can you cater for children?

Of course. A simple chicken paella is usually popular with children. Include children in your numbers.

Which paellas do you recommend?

That depends on who’s coming. A chicken or mixed paella is normally the most popular, with seafood and vegetable pans alongside.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.

What if the weather’s bad?

We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.

Is the paella gluten-free?

Yes, on request. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.
