Paella catering in N2

Our paella catering in N2

Keep it simple, or go all out: paella on its own, or with canapés, table tapas, desserts and sangria. We’ll suggest what suits your event. On the menu are vegetable paella, seafood paella and paella Valenciana, and we’re frequently booked for christenings and family gatherings and wedding breakfasts and evening food.

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

Planning live paella in N2

N2 covers everything from Hampstead, Finchley and East Finchley to 0 small villages and hamlets, and live paella suits every kind of setting. In towns, plan parking and access; in villages, tell us about lanes and ground.

East Finchley: School fairs and fundraisers, for a school such as Holy Trinity CofE Primary School, can book us as a food stall. For guests coming by train, the nearest station is New Southgate station, about 2.2 miles north-east. Around midsummer it stays light in East Finchley until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

Live paella or other catering?

Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together.

The menu, dish by dish

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a paella that stands on its own. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Paella Valenciana

Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, not seafood. It’s a favourite with guests who don’t eat fish.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Request clear labels at the serving table
  • Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
  • Have seats for most of your guests
  • Send allergies to us in writing

You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.

Bread, salad and lemon wedges make the meal go further.

For event organisers in N2

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Common questions in N2

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, on request. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

Do you take everything away?

Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.

Do you do starters?

Yes. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, served while the paella cooks.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three covers most guests. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we’ll suggest the mix.

Which paella is most popular?

That depends on who’s coming. Chicken and mixed paellas tend to go first, with seafood and vegetable pans alongside.

What areas do you cover?

We cater across London and the South East, Greater London included. Find your area.

Is paella enough as a main?

Yes. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main.
