Our paella catering in HP7
The cooking is half the fun. People drift over as the sofrito sizzles and the rice turns gold, and the aroma does the rest. Typical bookings include garden get-togethers and anniversary celebrations, serving black rice, paella Valenciana and chicken and chorizo paella.
Serving is fast: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. When service is finished, we pack down.
- First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
- You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
- On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
- The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
- It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.
Cost
Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Near you in Coleshill
In Coleshill, that can mean a party near Coleshill Church of England Infant School, The Red Lion pub and Amersham Hall and the streets around them. You will also find Amersham School (2.1 miles north-east) and Church of All Saints (under half a mile south-west). Coleshill’s nearest station is Amersham station, about 2 miles north-east of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Great Missenden (4 miles north-west) and Amersham Hospital (1.1 miles north). Not far away are Long Grove Wood.
Paella catering in HP7: local guide
Across HP7, we cook in 3 towns and 6 villages and hamlets, so the setting can be anything from Amersham, Little Chalfont and Amersham on the Hill to a quiet hamlet: level ground, ventilation and agreed timings. Parts of HP7 are within a few miles of the Chilterns National Landscape, so check venue rules on vehicles and cooking for countryside events.
Coleshill: For a christening or wedding at a church such as Church of All Saints, a paella lunch or reception nearby is an easy way to feed everyone. For guests coming by train, Amersham station is about 2 miles away. Around midsummer it stays light in Coleshill until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
The menu, dish by dish
Vegetable and vegan paella
A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a proper main dish. For vegans, the stock is plant-based.
Seafood paella
Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, finished with lemon wedges. It is usually the most photographed pan.
What paella catering costs
Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:
- Waiting and bar staff
- Distance and access to the venue
- Your choice of paellas
- How many courses
There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.
Details that help
To check availability and price, we need:
- The date and rough timings
- Expected numbers
- Whether the venue has crockery or staff
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
Getting a quote is simple: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.
What we need at the venue
Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but a few things matter:
- The venue’s permission for live cooking
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
Organising for someone else?
Organising a club, school or community event in HP7? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.
For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.
DIY paella versus live catering
You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
HP7 questions
Do you do vegan paella?
Yes. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.
Do you offer halal options?
Yes. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.
How many paellas should we have?
Two or three is usual: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.
Can paella be the only main course?
Yes. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main, and tapas or dessert can be added.
Is it really cooked live?
Yes. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, where your guests can watch.
Do you cater for young children?
Yes. A simple chicken paella is generally popular with children. Include children in your numbers.
Can you provide dessert?
Yes. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices.
