Paella catering for Winkfield events

Organising for someone else?

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we’ll talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

How our paella catering works in Winkfield

One cooking area feeds plenty of people, there is very little waste, and the food arrives hot. It is why live paella suits so many kinds of event. Popular choices include black rice, seafood paella and vegetable paella, and we are frequently booked for company summer parties and summer garden parties.

Somewhere as small as Winkfield, a garden or field is frequently the venue. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:

  • Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
  • Request clear labels at the serving table
  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Confirm allergies by email

Paella is at its best straight from the pan, so we plan service for when guests are ready to eat.

Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal.

What we need at the venue

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but a few things matter:

  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Popular choices

  • Vegan paella
  • Mixed paella

Should I cook it myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

How the day works

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. In Winkfield, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • How many guests are eating

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Details that help

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • What the venue already provides
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Where the event is

Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we’re available that day.

Is live paella right for your event?

Plated meals need a kitchen and a bigger team. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission to cook, and gives guests something to watch. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

Why book with us

  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • A clear, itemised quote
  • Events in Winkfield and across Windsor and Maidenhead
  • Sangria and bar staff available

Common questions in Winkfield

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Do you come out to small places like Winkfield?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We’ll make a plan B with you.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

What do you need at the venue?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

What is live paella catering?

We set up a cooking area at your venue, cook the paella from scratch in large pans while your guests watch, and serve it straight from the pan.

Do you cater for young children?

Of course. A simple chicken paella is usually popular with children. Tell us how many are coming.

Do you cater in Winkfield?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Winkfield. To check your date, use our quote form.
