Paella catering in Whitmoor Vale, cooked live

Everything is cooked from scratch on site, starting with a slow sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, then the stock, saffron and rice. On the menu are vegan paella, paella Valenciana and vegetable paella, and we’re frequently booked for christenings and family gatherings and summer garden parties.

In a hamlet or village like Whitmoor Vale, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a wonderful venue. Mention gates and soft ground when you contact us. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, with each paella cooked in its own pan.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Live paella or other catering?

Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is cooked as one big dish and served together. Larger events typically cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why book with us

  • Catering across Surrey, including Whitmoor Vale
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Live cooking, not reheated food

See Our prices page Or Our guide to catering costs.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:

  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Ask for labels on each pan
  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences

If you’ve booked staff, they’ll serve, clear and help keep things moving, so you can relax.

Bread, salad and lemon wedges make the meal go further.

What paella catering costs

Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:

  • How many guests are eating
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.

Getting an accurate quote

To speed things up, tell us:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Which courses you have in mind

It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll come back with a clear quote.

Your questions about paella catering in Whitmoor Vale

Do you come out to small places like Whitmoor Vale?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

How far is Whitmoor Vale from London?

About 39 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Can you supply plates?

Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

How soon do we need to book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates book up first, so it pays to ask early.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, it’s the classic pairing. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

Is it really cooked live?

Yes. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

What’s in the pans

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, and is normally served with alioli. It’s a striking addition to a seafood menu.

Paella Valenciana

Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, rather than seafood. It’s frequently the most popular pan at an event.

Where we can cook in Whitmoor Vale

We will be honest if a space will not work, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:

  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Choosing a paella caterer

The process

When the rice goes in, it’s left alone. That’s how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. Your guests will smell it before they see it. Around midsummer it stays light in Whitmoor Vale until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 4:00pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. You get a menu and an itemised quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. We cook live on the day while guests watch.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Let us know the timings for the day

Ask for a quote

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, send us your details through our quote form.
