Paella catering for West End events
Organising for someone else?
If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.
About our paella catering in West End
Paella has always been food for a crowd: cooked in the open in a big, shallow pan and shared straight from it. That is exactly what we bring to your event in West End. Popular choices include black rice, mixed paella and paella Valenciana, and we are regularly asked to cater leaving dos and retirements and engagement and anniversary parties.
London gardens are often long and narrow, which is fine for live paella as long as there is a level spot clear of fences and trees. For an event in West End, tell us where we can park to unload. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

How it works
Watching it cook is half the fun. Onion, garlic, peppers and tomato go in first, then the stock and saffron, then the rice, which cooks without stirring. In West End, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
- Send us your date, numbers and venue.
- We plan a menu that covers every diet.
- We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
- The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
- Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.
Preparing for the day
- Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
- Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
- Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable

FAQs for West End
What about parking in West End?
It can be, so tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway. We’ll work around it.
Which station should guests use for West End?
West End has its own station: Tottenham Court Road station.
Is halal food available?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and it is cooked separately.
Are premium seafood options available?
Tell us your preferences and we’ll suggest seafood options to suit your menu and budget. Premium shellfish can be added.
How many paellas should we have?
Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We will help you decide the split.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.
What happens if it rains?
We cook under cover, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We plan for rain with you in advance.
What do you need at the venue?
Not a lot: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. Send us a photo if you’re not sure.
Planning the cooking area
Before the day, we will agree where we cook. A good spot ticks these boxes:
- Somewhere close to park and unload
- A safe distance from anything that could catch
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
As a London location, West End is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.
If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think.

The menu, dish by dish
Black rice
Squid ink rice is bold and savoury, and is popular with adventurous guests.
Paella Valenciana
In Valencia, the recipe is fiercely debated. The traditional pan has chicken, flat green beans and butter beans, and it’s a crowd-pleaser.
How we price paella catering
These are the factors that matter most:
- Your choice of paellas
- Timings and hours
- How many courses
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.
Getting an accurate quote
When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:
- Your date and when you want to eat
- A picture of the space, if you can
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- Which courses you have in mind
We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, send us your details through our quote form.
Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.
Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
Live paella or other catering?
Cold buffets are easy but forgettable, and the food sits out. Paella is cooked in front of your guests and served hot. The cost per head usually falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.
