Paella catering for Warningcamp events

DIY paella versus live catering

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Paella catering for your event in Warningcamp

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Every pan is cooked on its own. We are frequently asked to cater retirement and leaving parties and garden parties and summer barbecues, serving mixed paella, black rice and seafood paella.

Somewhere as small as Warningcamp, a garden or field is frequently the venue. Tell us about narrow lanes or long drives and we will plan for them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

FAQs for Warningcamp

Do you cater in the South Downs National Park?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will work to whatever the site needs.

Is Warningcamp close to London?

About 48 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Is halal food available?

Yes. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

What space do you need to cook?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. If in doubt, send a picture.

Is paella a full meal?

It can be. Paella with bread and salad makes a full main course.

Do we need to provide equipment?

We bring all the cooking equipment. Let us know what your venue has, like tables or crockery.

Which areas do you serve?

We cater across London and the South East, including West Sussex. See all areas.

Which paellas do you recommend?

Most events choose two or three: a mixed or chicken paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Our menu lists the options.

Why choose live paella in Warningcamp?

If you want something different from the usual buffet or roast, live paella brings colour, aroma and a touch of Spain. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Why Warningcamp hosts choose us

  • No hidden extras in your quote
  • Drinks service on request
  • Real theatre, not just catering
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts

Read Our pricing Or Our guide to catering costs.

Catering for every guest

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To get it right:

  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Ask for labels on each pan
  • Have seats for most of your guests
  • Put allergy details in writing

After service, we pack down our cooking area.

We can add sangria and bar staff to serve drinks you provide.

Live paella in Warningcamp: local details

Warningcamp is about 3 miles north of Littlehampton, in West Sussex. Give us the address of your event in Warningcamp, and we’ll plan access and set-up before the day. Nearby historic houses include Ecclesden Manor (2.8 miles south-east) and Parham House (4.8 miles north). Historic venues frequently limit cooking, so ask early if you are booking one. School fairs and fundraisers, for a school such as The Littlehampton Academy, can book us as a food stall. The South Downs National Park is within about 4 miles of Warningcamp, and country venues and gardens there suit live paella perfectly. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules about vehicles and cooking, so check with yours. The coast is within about 4 miles of Warningcamp, and seafood paella always feels right near the sea. Sea breezes can be strong, so we plan a sheltered cooking spot.

Here we cover the BN18 postcode area, and we can cater your event anywhere in it. Streets in the area include Blakehurst Lane and Clay Lane, and we can cook for an event on any of them. What affects the price in Warningcamp

There is nothing hidden: the quote reflects:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Timings and hours
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.

Getting an accurate quote

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • The date and rough timings

Getting a quote is simple: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll send a clear, itemised quote and a suggested menu.

Dishes our guests love

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron.

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a proper main dish. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Planners, venues and businesses

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Throwing a party at home? Send us a photo of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Step by step

Watching it cook is half the fun. Onion, garlic, peppers and tomato go in first, then the stock and saffron, then the rice, which cooks without stirring while your guests chat. In Warningcamp, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
