About paella catering in BN18
We arrive with the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook the paella in front of your guests. When it’s ready, it is served straight from the pan. On the menu are seafood paella, mixed paella and vegan paella, and we’re frequently booked for leaving dos and retirements and family celebrations and christenings.
We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you’re free to enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking.
- We start with a few details about your event.
- You get a menu and an itemised quote.
- Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
- On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
- We serve from the pan, then pack down.
What you will pay
When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Near you in Yapton

The nearest railway station is Barnham station, roughly 1.5 miles north-west of the centre. Paella catering in BN18: local guide
Across BN18, we cook in 3 towns and 15 villages and hamlets, so whether your event is in Yapton, Arundel and Middleton-on-Sea or a quiet village, the approach is the same: level ground, ventilation and agreed timings. Parts of BN18 are within a few miles of the South Downs National Park, where some venues have extra rules about vehicles and cooking. Around 15 places in BN18 are close to the coast, where we always plan shelter from the wind, and seafood paella is popular.
Yapton: For a christening or wedding at a church such as Yapton Free Church, a paella lunch or reception nearby is an easy way to feed everyone. If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Yapton CE Primary School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. In Yapton, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 4:00pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
Is live paella right for you?
Vans serve one order at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, so everyone can eat at the same time.

DIY paella versus live catering
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Occasions we cook for in BN18
Paella is one of the few dishes that handles mixed diets easily, because each version is cooked in its own pan. Nobody gets a token ‘special meal’.
Here are some of the events we cook for:
- Engagement and anniversary parties
- Festivals, fairs and school events
- Garden parties and summer barbecues
- Weddings and evening receptions
Before you choose a spot
Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so the cooking area needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
How we price paella catering
The price comes down to a few factors:
- Timings and hours
- Starters, canapés and desserts
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
- Distance and access to the venue
Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can be a feast.
Getting an accurate quote
For a quote, it helps to have:
- The address or venue name
- A picture of the space, if you can
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- Roughly how many adults and children
Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. For a quote, fill in our quote form.
BN18 questions
When should we book?
As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so get in touch early.
What space do you need to cook?
Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.
Can you serve drinks?
We can make sangria, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.
Is paella enough as a main?
Paella is a meal in itself. Many hosts add tapas first or dessert after.
How much paella per person?
Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.
Where do you cater?
London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including BN18.
Can you cook indoors?
Generally we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, since the burners are gas. Some venues have suitable spaces; we will check with you and the venue.
- Cooked live in giant pans at your event
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
- Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
- Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
