Paella catering for Vines Cross events

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Paella catering for your event in Vines Cross

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Every pan is cooked on its own, so diets are easy to manage. We cook seafood paella, vegan paella and mixed paella, and we are often booked for retirement celebrations and garden get-togethers.

For a rural spot like Vines Cross, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

The process

We work to your timings. If things run behind, we hold the paella at the right stage so it’s still served fresh. Around midsummer it stays light in Vines Cross until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

Preparing for the day

  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Vines Cross questions

Do you come out to small places like Vines Cross?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at The Parish Church of St Mary?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

How many paellas should we have?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We will help you decide the split.

Do you cover Vines Cross?

Yes, we do. We cook at events in Vines Cross and across East Sussex. Send us your date to check availability.

When should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Will there be enough food?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Tell us what else is being served. See how much paella per person.

Can you cook indoors?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

What space do you need to cook?

A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Next to a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, thanks to separate pans. Service from the pan keeps queues moving. Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We’ll send you a quote.

Why us?

  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Drinks service on request
  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • Fast service from the pan

See Our pricing And The cost guide.

How we price paella catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • The number of people

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.
