Paella catering in Tipner
Paella catering in Tipner, cooked live
There’s something generous about paella: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It makes the food an event in itself. For wedding breakfasts and evening food and garden parties and summer barbecues, we’ll put together a menu of black rice, mixed paella and vegetable paella.
There may be a hall or club near Tipner if your garden is small; live paella can work at any of them, given permission and outdoor space. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

Should I cook it myself?
A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Dietary needs and planning tips
Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because every paella has its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:
- Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
- Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
- Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
- Mention any other courses or food
Paella is at its best straight from the pan, so we serve when guests are ready.
Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available if your venue doesn’t provide them.
Organising for someone else?
Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.
Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.
How it works
We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. Evenings in Tipner stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.
- You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
- We put together a menu and a clear quote.
- We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
- The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
- It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.
How to prepare

Paella compared with other options
A plated meal needs a kitchen, more staff and normally costs more per head. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission to cook, and it’s entertaining too. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will put together a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can be a feast.

Questions from Tipner
How far is Tipner from London?
About 64 miles from central London, and well within our area.
Can you cater a reception after a service at St Saviour's Church?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.
Can the paella be cooked in a hall?
Typically we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, since the burners are gas. Some venues have suitable spaces; we’ll check with you and the venue.
Which paella is most popular?
Most events choose two or three: chicken or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. See the sample menu.
What do you need at the venue?
Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.
Do you cover Tipner?
Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Tipner is within our area. To check your date, send us your details through our quote form.
Can you provide dessert?
We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind in your enquiry.
How much paella per person?
We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a little extra built in. Accurate numbers help.
