Paella catering for Seasalter events

Paella catering in Seasalter, cooked live

Paella was made for feeding a crowd: cooked in the open in a big, shallow pan and shared straight from it. That is exactly what we bring to your event in Seasalter. For birthday celebrations and community events and fairs, we’ll put together a menu of paella Valenciana, chicken and chorizo paella and black rice.

Somewhere like Seasalter, a field or garden is often the perfect setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you contact us. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Dishes our guests love

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a proper main dish. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Black rice

Squid ink rice is bold and savoury, and is popular with adventurous guests.

What paella catering costs

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Guest numbers
  • Timings and hours
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • The date and rough timings
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Expected numbers
  • A photo of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field

Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Paella compared with other options

Vans serve one order at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together. Larger events normally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What you get with us

  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
  • Catering across Kent, including Seasalter

FAQs for Seasalter

Can you cook in Seasalter Levels?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.

How far is Seasalter from London?

About 48 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Can you bring crockery?

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables are available.

What about pudding?

We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.

Is the paella gluten-free?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we take the right care.

Can we choose the seafood?

Seafood choices are agreed when we plan the menu.

Does paella work for big events?

Yes, that’s what it’s made for. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll help you decide the split.

What happens on the day

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Planning an evening event in Seasalter? Sunset is around 8:45pm in late May, 9:15pm at midsummer and 7:00pm in late September; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
  3. We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve from the pan, then clear our cooking area away.

Getting ready for the day

Planning help

Working with your venue

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

DIY paella versus live catering

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Where we can cook in Seasalter

Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We look for:

  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Somewhere close to park and unload

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Popular choices

  • Black rice (arroz negro)
