About our paella catering in Graveney
Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Each is cooked separately. Whether it’s birthday celebrations and staff parties and work lunches, we can cook seafood paella, mixed paella and paella Valenciana and more.
In a hamlet or village like Graveney, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a wonderful venue. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated, and served the moment it’s ready.
Who books paella catering in Graveney?
Live paella is made for outdoor events: it’s cooked in the open, served hot and eaten together.
These are some of the occasions we cater:
- Fairs, fêtes and festivals
- Christenings and family gatherings
- Anniversary celebrations
- Milestone birthday parties
If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Church of All Saints, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well.

Catering for every guest
Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:
- Ensure most guests can sit to eat
- Give us separate numbers for children
- Confirm allergies by email
- Make sure each pan is labelled
Paella is at its best straight from the pan, so we serve when guests are ready.
Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.
The menu, dish by dish
Mixed paella
Chicken and seafood together, for guests who want a bit of everything.
Black rice
Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, traditionally with alioli. It is a striking addition to a seafood menu.
Catering an event in Graveney
Graveney is about 2 miles east of Faversham, in Kent. For paella catering in Graveney, we plan around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and paella cooked live on the day. We cook in 922 places in Kent, from the larger towns to small villages. Our nearest city page is Canterbury, about 7 miles away.
For guests coming by train, Faversham station is about 2.4 miles away. Parks such as South Swale generally need the owner’s permission for cooking, so ask before you plan a party there. What paella catering costs
Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:
- Timings and hours
- How many guests are eating
- Plates, cutlery and glassware
- Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.
Details that help
To check availability and price, we need:
- The address or venue name
- Anything your venue supplies
- The date and rough timings
- Diets and allergies you know about
Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will confirm whether we’re available that day.
Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
Common questions in Graveney
We are having a ceremony at Church of All Saints: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
What about events near the coast?
Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.
Do you take everything away?
We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
How soon do we need to book?
The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.
Is the paella gluten-free?
We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.
Can you do sangria?
Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.
Can you cook indoors?
Mostly outside or under an open cover, because we use gas burners. Some venues have suitable spaces; we’ll check with you and the venue.
How much does paella catering cost in Graveney?
It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we’ll send a quote.
Space, weather and the venue
Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but there are a few things to check:
- A safe distance from anything that could catch
- The venue’s permission for live cooking
- Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.
What we offer
- Paella Valenciana
- Vegetable paella
- Seafood paella
- Black rice (arroz negro)
- Vegan paella
- Chicken & chorizo paella
- Mixed paella
Paella compared with other options
A plated meal needs a kitchen, more staff and typically costs more per head. Live paella needs only a level, ventilated spot and permission to cook, and it’s entertaining too. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.
Why Graveney hosts choose us
- Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
- Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
- Waiting staff and crockery on request
- Served hot, straight from the pan

The process
The cooking is part of the entertainment. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook while your guests chat. In Graveney, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:50pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
- We start with a few details about your event.
- You get a menu and an itemised quote.
- Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
- We cook live on the day while guests watch.
- It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.
Before we arrive
- Arrange parking near the cooking spot
- Tell us when you want to eat
- Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
How to get a price
