Working with your venue

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.

The process

Your timings come first. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we adjust the cooking so it is still served fresh. In Sandford-on-Thames, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Let us know the timings for the day

How we price paella catering

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • How many staff you need
  • How many guests are eating
  • Timings and hours
  • The paellas you choose

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

What we need to know

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • Where the event is
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The courses you’d like
  • What the venue already provides

The quickest way to a quote is to fill in our quote form. Tell us about your event in Sandford-on-Thames, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Planning the cooking area

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
