Paella catering for Peene events

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.

How our paella catering works in Peene

The cooking is half the fun. Guests gather round as the sofrito sizzles and the saffron colours the rice, and the smell does the rest. Popular choices include mixed paella, black rice and chicken and chorizo paella, and typical bookings are for community events and fairs and office lunches and staff parties.

In a small place like Peene, events are generally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

Prices and what affects them

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Travel, parking and access
  • How many guests are eating
  • The paellas you choose

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

What to tell us

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and time of the event
  • Expected numbers
  • Anything your venue supplies

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and you’ll get a menu idea and a price. To get started, send us your details through our quote form.

Step by step

On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Peene until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. You get a menu and an itemised quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. We cook live on the day while guests watch.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking

Planning for every diet

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
  • Request clear labels at the serving table
  • Put allergy details in writing
  • Mention any other courses or food

Let the paella rest for a few minutes before serving, and that’s when we invite guests up.

Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal, or serve your own cake.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

For something a little different, live paella adds colour, smell and theatre to your event in Peene. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why us?

  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Fast service from the pan
  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we’ll talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

FAQs for Peene

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Nicholas: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is normally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which station should guests use for Peene?

Folkestone West station, about 1.8 miles south-east of the centre.

What if the weather’s bad?

We cook under cover, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

Is paella a full meal?

Yes. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, where your guests can watch.

When should we book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so get in touch early.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

How long does the paella take?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
