Paella catering near Over Wallop

Is live paella right for your event?

Compared with a hog roast or barbecue, paella makes vegetarian, vegan and halal guests easier to cater for, because each paella has its own pan. It’s served quickly from the pan, so queues move. Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Why us?

  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Events in Over Wallop and across Hampshire

About our paella catering in Over Wallop

Almost any venue with a level, ventilated spot will do: gardens, marquees, barns, courtyards and festival fields. Whether it is retirement celebrations and staff parties and work lunches, we can cook vegan paella, vegetable paella and mixed paella and more.

In a small place like Over Wallop, events are usually in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

What affects the price in Over Wallop

There are no hidden charges: the price is based on:

  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • How many staff you need
  • The paellas you choose

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Details that help

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • What the venue already provides
  • The date and time of the event
  • The courses you’d like

To get a price, fill in our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

What we need at the venue

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you get in touch. In general, we need:

  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment
  • A safe distance from anything that could catch

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.

What we offer

  • Paella Valenciana

Planning for every diet

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Tell us what else is being served
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Ensure most guests can sit to eat
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs

Let the paella rest for a few minutes before serving, which is when we normally call guests over.

Sangria and bar staff can be added for your own drinks.

Should I cook it myself?

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Common questions in Over Wallop

What space do you need to cook?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

How it works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up the pans and burners, and cook and serve without fuss. Around midsummer it stays light in Over Wallop until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

Dishes our guests love

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The traditional pan has chicken, flat green beans and butter beans.

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a paella that stands on its own. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.
