Paella catering in Leafield, cooked live

One cooking area feeds plenty of people, there’s very little waste, and the food arrives hot. That is why it works for so many events. Popular choices include black rice, chicken and chorizo paella and mixed paella, and we are often booked for garden get-togethers and wedding breakfasts and evening food.

In a rural place like Leafield, the setting does a lot of the work: a huge pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Tell us about access and the ground. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, each in a separate pan and clearly labelled.

How we price paella catering

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • The paellas you choose
  • How many courses
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables

Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can be a feast.

What we need to know

To speed things up, tell us:

  • The address or venue name
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • The date and time of the event
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, fill in our quote form.

About the dishes

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It is the pan people photograph.

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron.

Organising for someone else?

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Diets, allergies and planning

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease

You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.

Sangria and bar staff can be added to serve drinks you provide.

Live paella or other catering?

Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is ready all at once, so everyone eats together. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Why us?

  • Real theatre, not just catering
  • Everything cooked fresh at your event
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • A clear, itemised quote

How to compare caterers

Common questions in Leafield

Do you come out to small places like Leafield?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

What’s the nearest station to Leafield for guests?

Ascott-Under-Wychwood station, about 2.5 miles north-west of the centre.

What if the weather’s bad?

A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We’ll talk it through before the day.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, served while the paella cooks.

When do you arrive?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance.

Can you cook indoors?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

How much space do you need?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a photo if you are not sure.

What we need at the venue

We’ll agree the cooking spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly.

What happens on the day

We work to your timings. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we adjust the cooking so it is served at its best. Around midsummer it stays light in Leafield until about 9:30pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu and a clear quote.
  3. On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
