Live paella catering in Isfield

Paella catering for your event in Isfield

Paella is generous food: giant pans, saffron colour and a toasted crust that everyone fights over. It turns a meal into an occasion. We cook mixed paella, vegetable paella and chicken and chorizo paella, and we’re often booked for milestone birthday parties and fairs, fêtes and festivals.

For a rural spot like Isfield, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, not reheated.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Isfield? Paella is quick to serve to a crowd and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

What we need at the venue

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

On the menu in Isfield

Prices and what affects them

We will give you a clear, itemised quote. The main things that affect it are:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • The length of service
  • How many guests are eating
  • How many courses

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

What to tell us

These details help us quote quickly:

  • What the venue already provides
  • The date and time of the event
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Roughly how many adults and children

It is easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Catering for every guest

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To get it right:

  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Make sure most guests can sit to eat
  • Count adults and children separately

Once everyone is fed, we clear our cooking area.

Sangria and bar staff can be added for your own drinks.

Isfield questions

We are having a ceremony at The Parish Church of St Margaret: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

What’s the nearest station to Isfield for guests?

The closest is Uckfield station, roughly 2.7 miles away.

Who clears up?

We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Yes, it’s the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, East Sussex included. Find your area.

Can you supply plates?

We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we’ll include the rest in the quote.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we can plan it carefully.

Is it really cooked live?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

What’s in the pans

Mixed paella

Chicken and seafood together, and a popular all-rounder.

Seafood paella

Seafood paella starts with a good fish and shellfish stock. Shellfish goes in towards the end so it stays tender.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Isfield until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area
  • Tell us where to park and unload
