About our paella catering in Irons Bottom

One cooking area feeds a lot of people, there’s very little waste, and the food arrives hot. That’s why it works for so many events. For engagement and anniversary parties and garden get-togethers, we can cook vegetable paella, mixed paella and black rice for your guests.

For a rural spot like Irons Bottom, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it’s hot and generous, and a queue moves quickly.

How the day works

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you’re free to enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. Evenings in Irons Bottom stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. We cook live on the day while guests watch.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook

Your questions about paella catering in Irons Bottom

Could we have live paella in Earlswood Common?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Can you cook at venues in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will work to whatever the site needs.

Can you cater for children?

Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.

What does paella catering cost?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Can you do sangria?

Yes, sangria. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

How much paella per person?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Let us know about any other food. Our guide to portions explains more.

Should we have more than one paella?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We will suggest a split based on your guests.

A closer look at the menu

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It is the pan people photograph.

Mixed paella

Chicken and seafood together, and a popular all-rounder.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Planning for every diet

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Ask for labels on each pan
  • Let us know about other food at the event

Once the rice is in, it needs about 20 minutes, so we start it at the right moment for your event. If timings shift, we adapt.

We can add sangria and bar staff to serve drinks you provide.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • How many courses
  • Your choice of paellas
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware

Larger events normally cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • A photo of the space, if you can
  • The date and rough timings
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

To get a price, fill in our quote form. Tell us about your event in Irons Bottom, and we’ll suggest paellas and extras to suit.
