How our paella catering works in Harestock

There is something generous about paella: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It turns a meal into an occasion. Typical bookings include office lunches and staff parties and christenings and family gatherings, with vegetable paella, paella Valenciana and vegan paella.

In a smaller place like Harestock, a garden party is often the simplest option: no venue hire, and nobody stuck cooking. Let us know about access to the house. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Common questions in Harestock

We are having a ceremony at Saint Barnabas: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

How far is Harestock from London?

About 61 miles from central London, and well within our area.

What equipment do you bring?

We bring all the cooking equipment. Tell us what the venue provides, such as tables or crockery.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We will agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you so the paella is ready when you want it.

Do you come to Harestock?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Harestock is within our area. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

How far ahead should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria, yes. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

How many different paellas?

Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.

Perfect for your event in Harestock

People book live paella because it is food and entertainment at once. The cooking becomes the centre of the event, and the food itself is hot and plentiful.

Whatever you’re celebrating in Harestock, paella can be the star of the food. We regularly cater:

  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Retirement and leaving parties
  • Company summer parties
  • Garden parties and summer barbecues

If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Saint Barnabas, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well.

Our caterer checklist

Space, weather and the venue

We’ll be honest if a space won’t work, and help find another spot. What matters most:

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • A safe distance from anything that could catch
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.

Menu ideas

  • Vegan paella
  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Mixed paella
  • Paella Valenciana
  • Vegetable paella
  • Seafood paella
  • Black rice (arroz negro)

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, so everyone can eat at the same time. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We will send you a quote.

Why us?

  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • No hidden extras in your quote
  • Real theatre, not just catering
  • Sangria and bar staff available

How it works

We work to your timings. If things run behind, we hold the paella at the right stage so it’s still served fresh. In Harestock, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
  • Tell us when you want to eat
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely

For event organisers in Harestock

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so everyone eats promptly. Let us know how long the food break is.

What’s in the pans

Vegetable and vegan paella

A vegetable paella isn’t an afterthought: artichokes, beans, peppers and saffron.

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, and a popular all-rounder.

Dietary needs and planning tips

With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:

  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down

On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.

Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available if your venue does not provide them.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
