Paella catering in Frilsham, made fresh on the day
Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: meat, seafood and vegetarian or vegan paellas. Each is cooked separately. On the menu are mixed paella, black rice and chicken and chorizo paella, and typical bookings are for engagement and anniversary parties and wedding breakfasts and evening food.
In a rural place like Frilsham, the setting does a lot of the work: a huge pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

Questions from Frilsham
Can you cook at venues in the North Wessex Downs National Landscape?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll work to whatever the site needs.
We’re having a ceremony at Church of St Frideswide: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.
Do you take everything away?
Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.
Do we need to provide equipment?
Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You provide a suitable spot and access.
Do you cover Frilsham?
Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Frilsham. To check your date, fill in our quote form.
When do you arrive?
It depends on the menu and numbers. We will agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you.
What is live paella catering?
We cook from scratch at your venue in big pans, in front of your guests, and serve straight from the pan.
What does paella catering cost?
The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we’ll send a quote.
The process
It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up the pans and burners, and get on with cooking and serving. Around midsummer it stays light in Frilsham until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
- We put together a menu and a clear quote.
- We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
- The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
- It’s served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.
How to prepare
- Tell us when you want to eat
- Give us a contact for the day
- Give us your final numbers and diets
How to get a price
We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, fill in our quote form.
Planning help
Catering for every guest
Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:
- Confirm allergies by email
- Mention any other courses or food
- Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan
- Count adults and children separately
A short rest after cooking helps, and that’s when we invite guests up.
We can add sangria and bar staff to serve drinks you provide.
Dishes our guests love
Paella Valenciana
In Valencia, the recipe is fiercely debated. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron, and it is a crowd-pleaser.
Seafood paella
The secret is a well-made seafood stock. Shellfish goes in towards the end so it stays tender.

Should I cook it myself?
Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.
A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.
For planners, venues and organisers
If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.
