Planning an event in Fingest?

About our paella catering in Fingest

We arrive with the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook the paella in front of your guests. Once it’s ready, we serve it hot from the pan. Popular choices include vegetable paella, seafood paella and paella Valenciana, and we are regularly asked to cater engagement and anniversary parties and retirement and leaving parties.

In a small place like Fingest, events are typically in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

What affects the price in Fingest

There is nothing hidden: the price is based on:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood

Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed before booking.

Details that help

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Please include:

  • The address or venue name
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The courses you’d like
  • What the venue already provides

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. When you’re ready, use our quote form.

Diets, allergies and planning

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Tell us what else is being served
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan

You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We arrive in good time, set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.

Add canapé tapas with the drinks or table tapas as a starter as the rice cooks.

Should I cook it myself?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We are happy to give you a quote to compare.

Live paella or other catering?

Cold buffets are easy but forgettable, and the food sits out. Paella is cooked in front of your guests and served hot. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

FAQs for Fingest

Is Fingest close to London?

About 35 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Bartholomew: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

Yes, if you need them. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans.

Is the paella gluten-free?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we can plan it carefully.

How do you work out quantities?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Let us know about any other food. Our guide to portions explains more.

Do you bring everything you need?

We bring the pans, burners and ingredients. You just need a suitable spot and access.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

How it works

From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first while the paella cooks. Evenings in Fingest stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
  3. On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable
