Paella catering near Ellesborough
How our paella catering works in Ellesborough
Live paella works almost anywhere with a level, ventilated spot: gardens, marquees, barns, courtyards and festival fields. Whether it’s anniversary celebrations and big birthdays, we can cook mixed paella, chicken and chorizo paella and vegetable paella and more.
In a small place like Ellesborough, events are generally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it is ready.

What’s in the pans
Seafood paella
A rich seafood stock with prawns, mussels and squid, finished with lemon wedges. It is the pan people photograph.
Paella Valenciana
Valencians take their paella seriously. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron.

FAQs for Ellesborough
We are having a ceremony at Church of St Peter and St Paul: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
What’s the nearest station to Ellesborough for guests?
Little Kimble station, about 0.9 miles west of the centre.
Where do you cater?
We cover London and the South East, Buckinghamshire included. See all areas.
Is halal food available?
Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in a separate pan.
Do you take everything away?
We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
Are premium seafood options available?
Seafood choices are agreed when we plan the menu, including premium options if you want them.
Do you provide plates and cutlery?
Yes, if you need them. Tell us what your venue provides and we will include the rest in the quote.
What happens with live paella?
We set up a cooking area at your venue, cook the paella from scratch in large pans while your guests watch, and serve it straight from the pan.
Working with your venue
Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.
If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Prices and what affects them
The price comes down to a few factors:
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
- The length of service
- The number of people
- Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.
What to tell us
To check availability and price, we need:
- Which courses you have in mind
- A photo of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- Expected numbers
To get a price, send us your details through our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we will suggest paellas and extras to suit.
Live paella or other catering?
If you want something different from the usual buffet or roast, live paella brings colour, aroma and a touch of Spain. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.
Why book with us
- Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
- Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
- We cover Ellesborough and the whole of Buckinghamshire
- Drinks service on request

What happens on the day
The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. Around midsummer it stays light in Ellesborough until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
- You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
- We suggest a menu and confirm a quote, including what’s included.
- On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
- The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
- It’s served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.
Getting ready for the day
- Leave space around the cooking area
- Share the running order, including any speeches
- Give us your final numbers and diets

Diets, allergies and planning
Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:
- Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
- Give us separate numbers for children
- Send allergies to us in writing
- Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
Paella is at its best straight from the pan, so we serve when guests are ready.
Need plates or staff? We can provide them.
Planning the cooking area
Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We look for:
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
- Level ground for the pans and burners
- Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think.
