Paella catering near Brockham

Paella catering for your event in Brockham

Everything is cooked from scratch on site, starting with a slow sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, followed by stock, saffron and rice. We cook chicken and chorizo paella, black rice and paella Valenciana, and we’re regularly asked to cater naming days and family parties and weddings and evening receptions.

In a rural place like Brockham, the setting does plenty of the work: a huge pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Tell us about access and the ground. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, never made in advance and reheated.

Brockham: your questions answered

Which station should guests use for Brockham?

The closest is Betchworth station, roughly 1.1 miles away.

Can you cook in Brockham Limeworks?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Do you cover Brockham?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Brockham is within our area. To check your date, send us your details through our quote form.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Yes, it’s the classic pairing. Tapas first, paella to follow.

What space do you need to cook?

A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

Can you serve drinks?

We can make sangria, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Which areas do you serve?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

Do you bring everything you need?

Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You provide a suitable spot and access.

Live paella or other catering?

For something a little different, live paella adds colour, smell and theatre. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will put together a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can be a feast.

Why us?

  • We cover Brockham and the whole of Surrey
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • No hidden extras in your quote
  • Real theatre, not just catering

See How we price Or The cost guide.

What paella catering costs

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • How many courses
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Parking and unloading
  • How many guests are eating

The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Getting an accurate quote

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Where the event is
  • What the venue already provides

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Organising for someone else?

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

DIY paella versus live catering

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Brockham: venues, travel and local tips

Brockham is about 2 miles east of Dorking, in Surrey. Tell us where your event in Brockham will be, and we will plan access and set-up before the day. Brockham is one of 395 towns and villages in Surrey where we cook. Our nearest city page is Guildford, about 13 miles away.

Nearby historic houses include Polesden Lacey (4.2 miles west). Historic venues often limit cooking, so ask early if you’re booking one. If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Christ Church, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well. The Surrey Hills National Landscape is within about 2 miles of Brockham, and country venues and gardens there suit live paella perfectly. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules about vehicles and cooking, so check with yours.

Wherever your event is in RH3, we can bring paella catering to you. Your event could be at a home on Holly Close, Nutwood Avenue and Kiln Lane. We also cook at events in Betchworth (1 mile north-east), Strood Green (1 mile south), Box Hill (1 mile north), Buckland (1 mile east) and Bunce Common (2 miles south). Catering for every guest

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To get it right:

  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Ask for labels on each pan
  • Have seats for most of your guests
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease

Paella is best eaten as soon as it is ready, so we serve when guests are ready.

Sangria and bar staff can be added for your own drinks.

Why choose paella catering in Brockham?

Paella is one of the few dishes that handles mixed diets easily, thanks to separate pans for each version. Everyone gets the same kind of meal.

Live paella works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Family celebrations and christenings
  • Milestone birthday parties
  • Summer garden parties
  • Office lunches and staff parties

For guests coming by train, Betchworth station is about 1.1 miles away.

Before booking anyone

  • The wet-weather plan
  • Plates, cutlery and napkins, or disposables
  • When final numbers are due
  • When payment is due

How to compare caterers

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:

  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think.

Popular choices

  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Mixed paella
  • Paella Valenciana
  • Black rice (arroz negro)
  • Vegan paella
  • Vegetable paella
  • Seafood paella

Step by step

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our cooking area, and get on with cooking and serving. In Brockham, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote, including what’s included.
  3. We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
