About our paella catering in Broadbridge

Paella has always been food for a crowd: cooked in the open in a big, shallow pan and shared straight from it. That’s exactly what we bring to your event in Broadbridge. For fairs, fêtes and festivals and engagement and anniversary parties, we can cook paella Valenciana, chicken and chorizo paella and vegan paella and more.

In a rural place like Broadbridge, the setting does a lot of the work: a huge pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Tell us about access and the ground. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, not reheated, and served the moment it’s ready.

What affects the price in Broadbridge

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Guest numbers
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables

Larger events normally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

What we need to know

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Diets and allergies you know about

Still deciding on the menu? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll make suggestions. Start when you are ready: send us your details through our quote form.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

About the dishes

Mixed paella

Mixed paella brings meat and seafood together.

Black rice

Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, and is usually served with alioli. It makes a dramatic second seafood pan.

Step by step

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. In Broadbridge, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote, including what’s included.
  3. On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
  4. The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

How to prepare

Broadbridge: your questions answered

How far is Broadbridge from London?

About 56 miles from central London, and well within our area.

We are having a ceremony at The United Reformed Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

Do you cook inside?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Is live paella good for a large crowd?

Yes, that is what it’s made for. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.

What does paella catering cost?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.

Can paella be the only main course?

Paella is a meal in itself. Tapas and desserts can be added if you like.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
