Why live cooking beats a buffet

Vans serve one order at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, so everyone can eat at the same time. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Why Brighthampton hosts choose us

  • No hidden extras in your quote
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Crockery and waiting staff if you need them

Common questions in Brighthampton

We are having a ceremony at St Giles' Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Is Brighthampton too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, Oxfordshire included. Find your area.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, in front of your guests.

Do you come to Brighthampton?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Brighthampton is within our area. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.

What about pudding?

We do. Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana.

Can you do sangria?

Yes, sangria. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

Should I cook it myself?

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We are happy to give you a quote to compare.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

What paella catering costs

There is nothing hidden: the price is based on:

  • The length of service
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Details that help

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • A picture of the space, if you can
  • The date and rough timings
  • What the venue already provides
  • Diets and allergies you know about

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we are available that day.

For planners, venues and organisers

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Count adults and children separately
  • Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Put allergy details in writing

After service, we pack down our cooking area.

Need plates or staff? We can provide them.

Before you choose a spot

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

How it works

It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up the pans and burners, and get on with cooking and serving. Around midsummer it stays light in Brighthampton until about 9:30pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. We start with a few details about your event.
  2. You get a menu and an itemised quote.
  3. Timings, access and the cooking area are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
