Paella catering in Allhallows, made fresh on the day

Everything is cooked from scratch on site, beginning with a sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, then the stock, saffron and rice. For garden get-togethers and festivals, fairs and school events, we will put together a menu of black rice, vegan paella and seafood paella.

For a rural spot like Allhallows, the countryside is part of the appeal: a giant pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Tell us about access and the ground. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Catering for every guest

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Ensure each pan is labelled
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Make sure most guests can sit to eat
  • Confirm allergies by email

Any staff you book serve and clear, so you can enjoy your guests.

Bread, salad and lemon go well alongside.

About the dishes

Seafood paella

A rich seafood stock with prawns, mussels and squid, finished with lemon wedges. It is normally the most photographed pan.

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a proper main dish. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Perfect for your event in Allhallows

There is no kitchen needed, so it’s at home in gardens, fields and marquees where plated meals are hard.

We are booked for all kinds of occasions in Allhallows and nearby. Some of the most common are:

  • Retirement celebrations
  • Christenings and family gatherings
  • Festivals, fairs and school events
  • Office lunches and staff parties

If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Church of All Saints, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well.

What happens on the day

We work to your timings. If things run behind, we hold the paella at the right stage so it is served at its best. Around midsummer it stays light in Allhallows until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
  3. On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

How to prepare

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely

What we need at the venue

Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so the cooking area needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • A safe distance from anything that could catch
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Allhallows: your questions answered

Is Allhallows close to London?

About 32 miles from central London.

Is Allhallows too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Should we have more than one paella?

Usually two or three, so every guest has a choice. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

Which areas do you serve?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Allhallows.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, then serve straight from the pan.

What equipment do you bring?

All cooking kit comes with us. Tell us what the venue provides, such as tables or crockery.

What happens if it rains?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We’ll make a plan B with you.

Paella compared with other options

Plated meals need a kitchen and a bigger team. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission to cook, and gives guests something to watch. Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We will send you a quote.
