Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Confirm allergies by email
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Tell us what else is being served

You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We set up, cook and serve, and keep in touch with you or your venue about timings.

Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available if your venue does not provide them.

About our paella catering in Addiscombe

You can keep it simple or build a full menu: paella on its own, or with canapés, table tapas, desserts and sangria. We will suggest what suits your event. We are often asked to cater fairs, fêtes and festivals and weddings and evening receptions, serving chicken and chorizo paella, vegetable paella and black rice.

Gardens in London can be narrow, but a level spot away from fences and trees is usually all we need. In Addiscombe, the bigger question is parking near the house or venue. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

Addiscombe questions

What’s the nearest station to Addiscombe for guests?

Norwood Junction station, about 1.2 miles north of the centre.

Could we have live paella in Ashburton Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

What areas do you cover?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Of course. Children frequently love a simple chicken paella. Include children in your numbers.

Do you take everything away?

Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.

Is paella a full meal?

Paella is a meal in itself. Many hosts add tapas first or dessert after.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans.

Can you serve drinks?

Yes, sangria. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

For planners, venues and organisers

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Is live paella right for your event?

Next to a hog roast or barbecue, paella makes vegetarian, vegan and halal guests easier to cater for, thanks to separate pans. Service from the pan keeps queues moving. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Why us?

  • Crockery and waiting staff if you need them
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment

Step by step

From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. Around midsummer it stays light in Addiscombe until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote, including what’s included.
  3. On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

What paella catering costs

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • How many staff you need

The cost per head typically falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What to tell us

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • A picture of the space, if you can
  • The date and rough timings
  • Expected numbers
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. When you are ready, fill in our quote form.
