Festival paella catering in West Hill, cooked live
Paella eats well from a bowl with a fork, standing up or sitting on the grass. For summer fairs and fêtes and school fairs and fundraisers, we can cook vegan paella, seafood paella and chicken and chorizo paella for your guests.
In West Hill, one trader covering most diets keeps it simple. Paella does exactly that. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.
West Hill questions
Do you trade at school fairs around West Hill?
Yes, with the school’s permission. Tell us the date and pitch details.
Do you cater in the South Downs National Park?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.
Can you bring crockery?
We can. Tell us what your venue provides and we’ll include the rest in the quote.
How long do you need on site?
We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.
What paperwork do you provide?
Share your trader requirements and we’ll respond.
Do you have a kids’ option?
Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.
Can you serve tapas as well?
Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas go out first, then the paella.
Space, weather and the venue
We will agree the cooking spot with you before the day. A good spot ticks these boxes:
- The event’s site rules and timings
- Clear information on power, water and waste
- A level pitch on firm ground
If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Why live cooking beats a buffet
Burger stalls are common. Paella adds something different. There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.
What you get with us
- No hidden extras in your quote
- Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
- Fast service from the pan
- Real theatre, not just catering
Working with your venue
If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we’ll talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.
Diets, allergies and planning
Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:
- Ask traders about packaging and waste
- Plan seating near the food area
- Ask about peak-time capacity
- Schedule crew meals

- Cooked live in giant pans at your event
