Live festival paella catering in Viables

What festival paella catering costs

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Guest numbers
  • How many courses
  • Your choice of paellas

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

What to tell us

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • A picture of the space, if you can
  • What the venue already provides

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. You can use our quote form.

Festival paella catering in Viables, made fresh on the day

One paella stall covers many diets: meat, seafood and vegan pans side by side. That simplifies your food line-up. On the menu are giant-pan paella, chicken and chorizo paella and churros, and typical bookings are for VIP and hospitality areas and charity and school events.

Village fêtes and summer fairs around Viables are made for a paella stall. Tell us about the pitch, ground and access. We plan the timings around your day, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.

Before you choose a spot

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • A pitch away from tents and structures
  • The event’s site rules and timings
  • Flat, firm ground

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

How the day works

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you can enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first while the paella cooks. At midsummer, events in Viables stay light until about 9:25pm, so evening trading generally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 4:00pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. It starts with your event details and pitch information.
  2. We confirm our menu, pitch needs and documents.
  3. We arrive at the agreed time to set up the pitch.
  4. We cook in front of the crowd and serve from the pan all event.
  5. At the end, we clear our pitch.

Preparing for the day

  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Have a level space ready for the pans

Planning help

Planning for every diet

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Agree waste arrangements with traders
  • Check allergen info is on display
  • Put picnic tables near the traders
  • Ask traders about serving speed at peak times

If crew or volunteer meals are booked, they’re served at the agreed times.

Churros and tapas can join the menu.

Working with your venue

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Viables? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Viables questions

Which station should guests use for Viables?

Basingstoke station, about 1.3 miles north of the centre.

Can you run a stall at a school fair in Viables?

Yes, if the school is happy for us to cook on site. Send us the date, pitch and expected numbers.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Yes. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, while the rice is cooking.

Can you bring crockery?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.

Will you have a stall at our event?

Send us the event details, dates and pitch information, and we’ll let you know if we are available.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

Can you cook indoors?

Usually we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, because we use gas burners. We’ll check whether your venue has a suitable space.

Can you cater for crew and volunteers?

We can. Crew, volunteer and VIP catering is available, with or without a public stall.
