About our festival paella catering in The Holt

The cooking is part of the show. Visitors stop to watch, take photos and come back for lunch. For community events and open days and country shows, we can cook giant-pan paella, chicken and chorizo paella and seafood paella for your guests.

Rural events near The Holt can be a long way from food outlets, so a hot-food stall is a big help. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • The paellas you choose
  • Parking and unloading

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The date and time of the event
  • The courses you’d like
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

The quickest way to a quote is to send us your details through our quote form. Tell us about your event in The Holt, and we’ll put together a menu and price.

Why choose festival paella catering in The Holt?

It brings theatre to the food court.

Big or small, live paella works well. Common bookings include:

  • Summer fairs and fêtes
  • School and charity events
  • VIP and hospitality areas
  • Open days and community events

If you are organising a summer fair or fundraiser for a school such as Robert Piggott CofE Infant School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser.

What your quote should include

  • The wet-weather plan
  • How many staff are coming, and for how long
  • The venue requirements
  • The deposit and payment dates

How to compare caterers

What we need at the venue

Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so we need a suitable spot. Here’s what we look for:

  • Pitch space for cooking and serving
  • Clearance from tents and gazebos
  • A level pitch on firm ground

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before booking.

On the menu in The Holt

Diets, allergies and planning

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Ask about peak-time capacity
  • Send traders one clear trader pack
  • Check every diet is covered by the line-up
  • Agree waste arrangements with traders

We set up at the agreed time.

Tapas and churros can be added to a stall menu.

How it works

Service is quick: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. Evening events in The Holt have light until about 9:25pm at midsummer; after dark, we need a lit pitch.

  1. First, we check the dates.
  2. We agree menu and pitch.
  3. We set up our burners and pans.
  4. Pans are cooking as gates open.
  5. We serve, then pack down.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking

Common questions in The Holt

Is The Holt close to London?

About 32 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Do you come out to small places like The Holt?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

What does festival paella catering cost?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we will send a quote.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Yes. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, served while the paella cooks.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We will talk it through before the day.

How long does the paella take?

We get there in good time to set up. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Can you trade at our festival or fair?

Send us the event details, dates and pitch information, and we will let you know if we’re available.

Can vegans eat at your stall?

Yes. The vegan pan is cooked separately.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.
