Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Is live paella right for your event?

Food that sits in a hot cabinet is not much to look at. A huge pan cooking in view sells itself. Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Why book with us

  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Drinks service on request

Common questions in Rowstock

Can you run a stall at a school fair in Rowstock?

Yes, if the school is happy for us to cook on site. Send us the date, pitch and expected numbers.

How far is Rowstock from London?

About 53 miles from central London.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Normally we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, because we use gas burners. Some venues have suitable spaces; we’ll check with you and the venue.

Can you bring crockery?

Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Do you need water?

Tell us what’s available at the pitch and we’ll confirm what we need.

Is the paella cooked on site?

It is. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, then serve straight from the pan.

Can you do sangria?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Can you trade at our festival or fair?

Tell us about the event, dates and pitch, and we’ll let you know if we are available.

Organising for someone else?

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

How the day works

From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. For an evening event in Rowstock, sunset is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June; after dark, we need a lit pitch.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. You get our stall menu and what we need on site.
  3. Paperwork goes over in good time.
  4. We time the first pans for the lunchtime rush.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.
