Festival paella catering in Coscote, made fresh on the day

Paella in a bowl is perfect festival food, standing up or sitting on the grass. We are frequently asked to cater school fairs and fundraisers and farmers’ and Christmas markets, serving giant-pan paella, vegan paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

At a field event near Coscote, power and water may be limited; tell us what’s available and we will plan around it. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Before you choose a spot

Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but a few things matter:

  • Firm, level ground
  • Access for unloading at set-up
  • A pitch away from tents and structures

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

Catering for every guest

Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because every paella has its own pan. A few tips:

  • Ask for allergen information at each stall
  • Check traders’ packaging and waste plans
  • Make sure the line-up includes vegan and gluten-free options
  • Plan seating near the food area

We keep our pitch tidy and safe throughout the day.

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • The number of people
  • Whether you need crockery

There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • Where the event is
  • Expected numbers
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff

It’s easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will send a clear, itemised quote.

How the day works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. Summer events in Coscote have daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer and about 7:10pm by late September, which helps evening trading. For winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. First, we check the dates.
  2. We agree menu and pitch.
  3. Burners and pans go up.
  4. Pans are cooking as gates open.
  5. We serve, then pack down.

Preparing for the day

  • Tell us when you want to eat
  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Plan cover in case of rain

Planning help

Should I cook it myself?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Coscote: your questions answered

Do you come out to small places like Coscote?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Do you trade at school fairs around Coscote?

Yes, if the school is happy for us to cook on site. Tell us the date and pitch details.

Do you do starters?

Yes, and it’s a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Do you offer halal options?

We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and we will cook a separate pan.

How quickly can you serve?

Paella is cooked in big batches and served from the pan, so service is quick.

Do you have vegan options at events?

Yes. Vegan paella is cooked in its own pan.

Is it really cooked live?

Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

Do you need water?

Let us know what the pitch has and we’ll confirm our needs.
