Prices and what affects them

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Parking and unloading
  • How many staff you need

Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Expected numbers
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. You can send us your details through our quote form.

Festival paella catering in Canary Wharf, made fresh on the day

Because paella is cooked in big batches, it handles lunchtime rushes well. Portions are served in seconds. On the menu are seafood paella, chicken and chorizo paella and churros, and we’re regularly asked to cater open days and crew, volunteer and VIP catering.

In Canary Wharf, street events mean planning access and closures. Send us the pitch and timings. We serve straight from the pan, so it’s hot and generous, and service is quick once it’s ready.

Live paella or other catering?

Not every trader covers vegans. A paella stall can have a vegan pan alongside the rest. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can be a feast.

Why us?

  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan
  • Drinks service on request
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them

Read Our prices page And The cost guide.

Step by step

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up the pans and burners, and cook and serve without fuss. At midsummer, events in Canary Wharf stay light until about 9:20pm, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. Winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. You get our stall menu and what we need on site.
  3. We send the documents the event asks for.
  4. On the day, the pans are on before the busiest hours.
  5. At close, we pack down and tidy up.

Getting ready for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Give us a contact for the day

Canary Wharf questions

Could we have live paella in Sir John McDougall Gardens?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.

Do you trade at school fairs around Canary Wharf?

Yes, if the school is happy for us to cook on site. Tell us the date and pitch details.

Can you bring crockery?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we’ll quote for the rest.

What about pudding?

We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one when you ask for a quote.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.

Do you do crew catering?

We can. Crew, volunteer and VIP catering is available, with or without a public stall.

Do you need power?

Send pitch details and we’ll confirm.

Is there a vegan option?

Yes. There’s a vegan pan next to the others.

Planning the cooking area

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • Access for unloading at set-up
  • Clear information on power, water and waste
  • Flat, firm ground

As a London location, Canary Wharf is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
