Festival paella catering in Bankside, cooked live

Nothing draws a festival crowd like a huge paella. The sight and smell of it cooking brings people over, and service from the pan is fast. We are often asked to cater village fêtes and summer fairs and agricultural and county shows, with vegan paella, chicken and chorizo paella and churros.

In Bankside, a paella pan suits street parties and school fairs, once permissions are sorted. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Planning the cooking area

Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We need:

  • Pitch space for cooking and serving
  • A pitch away from tents and structures
  • The event’s site rules and timings

As a London location, Bankside is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

What we offer

  • Tapas
  • Giant paella pans
  • Vegan paella
  • Churros
  • Seafood paella
  • Chicken & chorizo paella

FAQs for Bankside

Do you trade at school fairs around Bankside?

Yes, with the school’s permission. Send us the date, pitch and expected numbers.

Is parking a problem for events in Bankside?

London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. We will plan unloading around it.

How quickly can you serve?

Big batches and service from the pan keep things moving.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes, on request. Let us know your halal numbers, and we will cook a separate pan.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

How many different paellas?

Two or three is usual: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can, if you tell us in advance. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

How much is live paella catering?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we’ll send a quote.

Step by step

Once the rice is in, we do not stir it. That’s how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. The smell usually draws people over. Evening events in Bankside have light until about 9:20pm at midsummer; after that, the pitch needs good lighting.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. You get our stall menu and what we need on site.
  3. We send the documents the event asks for.
  4. On the day, the pans are on before the busiest hours.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

Preparing for the day

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Have a level space ready for the pans

How we price festival paella catering

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • How long we are needed on site
  • How many staff you need
  • Distance and access to the venue

Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

What we need to know

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • The address or venue name
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, use our quote form.

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To get it right:

  • Ask about peak-time capacity
  • Check allergen info is on display
  • Check traders’ packaging and waste plans
  • Provide seating near the food

We set up at the agreed time, following your trader pack.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.
