Organising for someone else?

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Stockwell? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Give us the details and we’ll suggest a plan.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How many staff you need
  • How many courses

Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We will send you a quote.

What to tell us

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The venue or postcode

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: give us the basics about your event, and we will suggest a menu. Start when you are ready: send us your details through our quote form.

Running an event in Stockwell

Stockwell is about 2 miles south-west of London, in Greater London. For festival paella catering in Stockwell, we plan around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and paella cooked live on the day. We cook in all 764 towns and villages in Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages.

Events in parks such as Max Roach Park need permission from the council or landowner, and we’ll send any documents they ask for. School fairs, for a school like St Andrew's Church of England Primary School, are a natural fit for a paella stall.

Here we cover the SW9, SW4 and SW8 postcode area, and we can cater your event anywhere in it. From Kay Road, West Road and Cato Road or a nearby road, we’ll bring the pans to you. Stockwell sits on or near the A203 and A2217, so getting the burners and pans to your event is simple. Nearby, we also cater events in Little Portugal (1 mile north), Angell Town (1 mile east), North Brixton (1 mile north-east), South Lambeth (1 mile north) and Clapham (1 mile west). Further out, we also cater in City of Westminster (3 miles north-west), Marylebone (4 miles north), Kensington (4 miles north-west), St Pancras (4 miles north), Shoreditch (4 miles north-east) and Walthamstow (9 miles north-east).

A little further out are Streatham Hill (1.9 miles south) and London General Cab Company Museum (within half a mile north-east). The countryside around Stockwell includes Knight's Hill and Centre for Wildlife Gardening.

Should I cook it myself?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

The process

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. Summer events in Stockwell have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, which helps evening trading. Winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. You get our stall menu and what we need on site.
  3. Paperwork goes over in good time.
  4. We time the first pans for the lunchtime rush.
  5. At close, we pack down and tidy up.

How to prepare

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Share the running order, including any speeches

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Check allergen info is on display
  • Ask traders about serving speed at peak times
  • Ensure the line-up includes vegan and gluten-free options
