Corporate paella catering in Polegate, cooked live

Food at work events can easily exclude people. Separate pans mean everyone eats the same kind of meal. For away days and office lunches and training days and conferences, we can cook canapé tapas, Spanish desserts and paella lunches for your guests.

Work events near Polegate might be at a farm venue, a barn or the office grounds. Live paella works in all of them. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated.

Where we can cook in Polegate

Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so the cooking area needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

About the dishes

Paella lunches

A paella lunch feeds a team fast.

Vegan and vegetarian pans

A proper vegetarian or vegan main, not an afterthought.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Have water and soft drinks available
  • Ask what the venue requires from caterers
  • Let us know how long people have to eat
  • Check the building or venue allows live cooking

The space is left clean and tidy.

Bowl food for standing events.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Buffet food sits out. Paella is served hot as soon as it’s ready. There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

Why us?

  • Catering across East Sussex, including Polegate
  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them

FAQs for Polegate

Do you cater in the South Downs National Park?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll work to whatever the site needs.

Which station should guests use for Polegate?

Polegate has its own station: Polegate station.

Can you cater a winter event?

Yes, if there is a covered, ventilated spot. December dates go fast.

Can you bring crockery?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.

How much paella per person?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it’s worth asking.

Can you cook indoors?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

The process

On the day, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. December events in Polegate are in the dark from about 3:55pm, so plan lighting where we cook. Summer events have daylight until around 9:15pm.

  1. Send us the date, venue, numbers and timings.
  2. You get a menu, a price and documents.
  3. We agree access and set-up with facilities.
  4. We cook live and serve on schedule.
  5. We pack down and leave the space tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Give us a contact for the day
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Tell us when you want to eat

Planning help

Prices and what affects them

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • How many courses
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff

The cost per head generally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

Details that help

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • The date and time of the event
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • The courses you’d like
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will confirm whether we are available that day.

Organising for someone else?

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Throwing a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about parking, and we will tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
