Planners, venues and businesses

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

How the day works

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. At midsummer, sunset in Woodlands is about 9:20pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan each course.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Before you choose a spot

Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but a few things matter:

  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
  • A cooking spot outside the marquee, not inside it
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think.

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • How many courses
  • The number of people
  • Your choice of paellas
  • How many staff you need

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

What to tell us

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • The courses you’d like
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The address or venue name
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. You can use our quote form.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Your questions about wedding paella catering in Woodlands

Is Woodlands too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

What’s the nearest station to Woodlands for guests?

Kemsing station, about 1.8 miles south of the centre.

Can you cater for children?

Yes. A simple chicken paella is generally popular with children. Include children in your numbers.

Can you do our whole wedding menu?

Any part of the day, or all of it, from the drinks reception to the evening.

How much space do you need?

Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. Send us a photo if you’re not sure.

Do you cook it at the event?

Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

Do you cover Woodlands?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Woodlands is within our area and the rest of Kent. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

Do you provide drinks?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Why choose live paella in Woodlands?

Food vans can create long queues. Paella is served quickly to many guests. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.
