How the day works

Service is quick: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. When service is finished, we pack down. Golden-hour photos in Twydall at midsummer come around 9:20pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:50pm, and in late September about 7:00pm.

  1. You tell us your date, venue, guest numbers and how you picture the day.
  2. Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue, including speeches and photos.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. Afterwards we clear our area; any staff you’ve booked stay as planned.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Compared with formal catering, live paella is relaxed and sociable, but with canapés, table tapas and good crockery, it still feels special. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We will send you a quote.

Why book with us

  • No hidden extras in your quote

Planning for every diet

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Choose pan-side or table service
  • Count day and evening guests separately
  • Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers
  • Book early for summer Saturdays

Evening guests can be served from fresh pans later on, generally timed after the first dance.

Finish with Spanish desserts or your cake.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

How we price wedding paella catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Parking and unloading
  • How many staff you need
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How long we’re needed on site

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed before booking.

What to tell us

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • The date and time of the event
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • The address or venue name
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it’s a garden or field

Send us the date, your venue or ME8 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and you will get a menu idea and a price. Just fill in our quote form.

FAQs for Twydall

How far is Twydall from London?

Roughly 31 miles from the centre of London.

Do you cater in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will work to whatever the site needs.

Can you bring crockery?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we’ll quote for the rest.

Do you cater for young children?

Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Courtyards, doorways and terraces often work.

Can you serve drinks?

We can make sangria, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

We can, if you tell us in advance. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

Can you feed our photographer and band?

Yes. Add your suppliers to the final numbers.

Space, weather and the venue

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We look for:

  • A separate open-sided gazebo if the meal is in a marquee
  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
  • Somewhere close to park and unload

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think.

What we offer

  • Table tapas
  • Dessert
  • Canapé tapas
  • Sangria & bar staff
  • Paella wedding breakfast
